Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2025
SEC Tokenization (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website sectokenization.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit our Site. By accessing or using the Site, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the practices described herein, you should not access or use the Site.
This Privacy Policy applies to all visitors, users, and others who access the Site, including those who access our regulatory intelligence resources such as our enforcement tracking, ATS market activity data, Reg D filing analytics, and all other content sections.
Information We Collect
Information Collected Automatically. When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device and your visit. This includes:
- Device and Browser Information: Your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type (desktop, tablet, mobile), screen resolution, and language preferences.
- Usage Data: Pages visited, time spent on each page, referring URL (the website you visited before arriving at our Site), exit pages, click patterns, scroll depth, and the date and time of your visit.
- Location Data: Approximate geographic location derived from your IP address, limited to country and general region. We do not collect precise geolocation data.
- Cookie and Tracking Data: Information collected through cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar tracking technologies, as described in our Cookie Policy.
Information You Provide Voluntarily. If you contact us via email at info@sectokenization.com, subscribe to alerts, or submit information through any form on the Site, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, organization, and the content of your message.
Information from Third-Party Services. We receive aggregated and anonymized analytics data from Google Analytics, and advertising-related data from Google AdSense. These services may collect information about your browsing activity across multiple websites using cookies and similar technologies.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Site Operation and Improvement: To maintain, operate, and improve the Site’s content, functionality, and user experience. This includes analyzing which regulatory topics generate the most reader interest — such as our coverage of the Howey Test, SEC enforcement actions, and offering exemption comparisons — so we can prioritize content development accordingly.
- Analytics and Performance Monitoring: To understand how visitors interact with the Site, identify technical issues, measure content engagement, and track Site performance metrics.
- Advertising: To serve relevant advertisements through Google AdSense and to measure advertising effectiveness. Advertising revenue supports the continued operation of the Site and the production of free regulatory intelligence content.
- Communication: To respond to your inquiries, provide requested information, and send administrative communications related to the Site.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes, and to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property.
Legal Basis for Processing (for EEA/UK Visitors)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for collecting and using your personal information depends on the specific information collected and the context in which we collect it:
- Legitimate Interests: We process most Site usage data based on our legitimate interest in operating, maintaining, and improving the Site and serving relevant advertising.
- Consent: We rely on your consent for the use of non-essential cookies and tracking technologies, as described in our Cookie Policy.
- Legal Obligation: We may process your information to comply with applicable legal requirements.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect and process your information:
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to analyze Site traffic and usage patterns. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized information about your visits. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google AdSense. We use Google AdSense to serve advertisements on the Site. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide relevant advertisements. For more information about Google’s advertising practices and your opt-out options, visit Google Ads Settings.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
Data Retention
We retain automatically collected data (analytics and usage logs) for a period of 26 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Information you provide voluntarily (such as email correspondence) is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law.
Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include the use of HTTPS encryption for all Site traffic, regular software updates, and restricted access to data systems. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access and Portability: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
- Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Opt-Out of Tracking: You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or through our cookie consent interface, as described in our Cookie Policy.
- Do Not Track: We respect Do Not Track signals sent by your browser. When we detect a Do Not Track signal, we disable non-essential tracking cookies for your session.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). These include the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. To submit a verifiable consumer request, contact us at info@sectokenization.com.
Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The subject matter of the Site — SEC securities regulation, security token offerings, and digital asset compliance — is directed exclusively at adult professionals, investors, and legal practitioners. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
International Data Transfers
The Site is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Site, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or regulatory guidance. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page and post the revised policy on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of the revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
State-Specific Privacy Rights
In addition to California rights described above, residents of certain other states have specific privacy rights:
Virginia (VCDPA). Virginia residents have the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal data. They may also opt out of the processing of personal data for targeted advertising and the sale of personal data. We do not sell personal data as defined under the VCDPA.
Colorado (CPA). Colorado residents have rights to access, correct, delete, and port their personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, and profiling. We process data in accordance with the Colorado Privacy Act requirements applicable to our operations.
Connecticut (CTDPA). Connecticut residents have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and port their personal data under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act.
Utah (UCPA). Utah residents have the right to access and delete their personal data, and to opt out of the sale of personal data and targeted advertising under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act.
To exercise any state-specific privacy rights, contact us at info@sectokenization.com. We will verify your identity before processing any request and respond within the timeframe required by the applicable state law (typically 45 days).
Advertising and Content Personalization
Our Site uses Google AdSense to serve advertisements that support the production of free regulatory intelligence content. Advertisements displayed on the Site are selected by Google’s automated systems based on the content of the page you are viewing, your general geographic location, and, where you have consented to personalized advertising, your browsing history across websites in the Google Display Network.
We do not control which specific advertisements are displayed. Advertisements on the Site do not constitute endorsements of any product, service, or company. The regulatory analysis and content on the Site — including our coverage of security token offerings, SEC enforcement, ATS platforms, and the Howey test — is editorially independent of advertising considerations.
You may manage your Google advertising personalization preferences at Google Ads Settings. You may also use the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out tool or the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out tool to manage interest-based advertising from participating companies.
